Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

Everyday he is standing there handing out free newspapers; rain or shine; hot or bitterly cold; always smiling and enjoying his job. Like so many other people his job is not glamourous, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy his work and his purpose.
Every morning, in over 100 major cities across the world, millions of industrious metropolitans take to the streets, buses and trains on their way to work. They are young, well networked trend-setters, cash-rich but time-poor, with healthy media appetites and perpetually shifting tastes. With its unbiased views, engaging features and simple design. Through their novel approach of free newspapers, Metro has become a preferred source of morning news for metropolitans since its launch in early 1995; and it comes for free! Actually even the NewYork Times could be handed out free if they wanted to go with that marketing method, but they use the money they charge for their paper to cover the distribution costs. The Metro’s format makes it a great paper to read on the train or while on the go, as it isn’t massive, or cumbersome to handle, and it covers the relevant news and some novel stories. Contains aspects of the larger newspapers such as lifestyle, sports, entertainment and cooking; just in a reduced format. I know that I, like many other Calgarians working downtown will take one of these newspapers and have it read by the time we have reached work; updated on todays news and ready to take on thhe day doing our important jobs. |
